i think they are about as powerful as this
ive seen demonstrations of these things and they always seem to do the job properly, but ive never seen them complete a whole room.
they must work to some degree else they wouldnt be able to sell them, i just have a feeling that if i leave one of these things to its devices, it would either run out of power in the middle of the floor, get stuck on something, then run out of power, or just miss a square part of the room, leaving me to do that spot with a hoover....0 -
I have my doubts same as you. Would be good though (if it worked)!!0

i think for square rooms with no furniture/rugs/tv stands/chairs/tables/animals/people/toys.... etc etc then they work... other than that, there is a multitude of reasons why these could and probably do fail.0

IMO they're just a gimmick. There was a review of them on a recent Gadget Show (tried to find it on their web site but couldn't). From what I remember they performed poorly - which isn't surprising - how could you expect such a small battery powered vacuum cleaner to come anywhere close to performing well? There must be minimal suction (otherwise the thing will not move freely around the room (have you noticed how much force is required to push a "proper" hoover head around a carpet)).
Although I surpose if you live in a house with no children or pets, and where the occupants have no hobbies and they never drop anything, then it may actually clean up the dust.Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -

Thanks, but there was another more in-depth review of a few more makes that John Bentley did and it doesn't appear to be on the website.Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -

Wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, if you want a proper vacuum cleaner buy a Miele. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Yeah I've seen those but they aren't the ones that John Bentley reviewed. That review was a controlled test where they set up a mock living room and tested the different models under the same conditions.Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -
