Dr.Who-Who wrote: »AH - I take it ASD stands for (Autistic spectrum disorder) am I right ? If not, am sorry:o.
Yes sorry we get so used to using the abreviations. He is diagnosed with Autistic spectrum disorder (Aspergers)/ADHD also suffers from other medical issues nut/egg allergy which he has an epipen eczema hayfever and has now been diagnosed with seasonal asthma. He suffers from very low self esteem & has spoke many times of wanting to die & that is why CAMH are involved(Child & Adolescent Mental Health) sorry think I spelt it wrong in previous post. SEN stands for Special Educational Needs as he has a statement, assessment & monitoring are the team that deal with the statements i.e. decide on placements & funding.0 -
Loving our little FB community for comps...won a bracelet yesterday on the Everyday Sale comp and a WEM just in from Martini, won £30 of Bella Pasta vouchers....cheers !!!0

hi AH
sorry to here of your problems with your DS , things will get better i'm sure and in the mean time we're all here to listen and send our hugs.
not sure what your whole situation is with regards to work etc but
as hes so close to exams perhaps you could come to an arrangement with his school where he works/studies at home, using there syllabus/normal class stuff (homeschooling which is a legal option or flexischooling which is mostly at home)google both you should find some info.will see if i can fine something ,back in a moment
here, flexi schooling but if you also go in their home page its for homeschooling to. its a great organisation that you can jion and it has a list of homeschoolers around the country many meet up for group actives/support too

So sorry RM abt your job offer, seems really unfair fingers crossed you will find something soon.:( Love your post abt men rules Dr Who & gill377 for your post abt cuckoo clock they made me smile.
Feeling sad (actually feel like crying) at moment have just had to withdraw DS from school today as things really not too good of late & absolutely no idea what I should do. So spent morning contacting SEN & CAMBH awating call backs. He is in ASD provision attached to mainstream 14yrs & started GCSE's/BTECH after May half term so really not a good time to be in this position. Sorry just off loading too you guys as you are all good listeners.
On a bit more up beat jeferey you are doing a fantastic job with the fostering:)0 -
Sorry to read about your woes AH - you may need this:
Thanks for yours and Bully's kind words - you are right, it is very rewarding but also frustrating at times, worth it thoughIf at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
5 DEADLY TERMS USED BY A WOMAN:
1 FINE: This is the word women use to end an argument when she knows she is RIGHT & YOU need to SHUT UP.
2 NOTHING: Means SOMETHING & you need to be WORRIED.
3 GO AHEAD: This is a dare, not permission, do NOT do it.
4 WHATEVER: A woman's way of saying SCREW YOU.
5 THAT'S OK: She is thinking long & hard on HOW & WHEN you will pay for your mistake.Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.
never complain about growing old,far too many people have been denied that privilege.0 -
Thanks MT for your thoughtful link found it very useful reading:), DS mentioned wanting to be home tutored but find this overwhelming to even think about, but is an avenue we may have to explore more just concerned where exams & qualifications come in to it so looks like my summer hols is going to be filled with doing some local research.
Thanks for everyone's kind support & off course jeferey's special hugs
Sad to say not done any comps for months now just not found time with everything else going on. When things are more settled would hopefully be able to join you merry band on this facebook thing but as would need guidance of how it all works I will be best to wait for now.0 -
Hugs for AH. Hope you are able to sort something concerning home schooling, I know there are lots of support groups for it.

My Dad, OH and BIL went out for a pint or 2 on Sunday and came home very late clutching kebabs and lots of photos of their first planking session. FYI, BIL is 40, OH 36 and my Pa is 65 :rotfl::rotfl: The photos are hilarious and if I get them from BIL I will post them here.
