not too sure if i am putting this in the right thread but needed some advice! a friend of mine has found some tesco money off coupons not the '£5 off £30 spend' but the £10 tesco voucher, i know totalling up to over £30. She does not know whos they are, they have a name on and im guessing a clubcard number (not sure as ive not seen them) sounds like to me they are due to points or something, anyway she wanted to know if she was able to spend them as she doesnt have that clubcard (if they are linked to the card) and if she does use them can they be traced back to her? she just asked me as she knows i use coupons a lot, and she doesnt want to get into trouble for using them! thanks for any help

If possible do use it without your clubcard as thats how they keep an eye on us couponers. I have not been using my clubcard since I found out about DTD & I have been using DTD/APG & JTD to buy me stuff. I have milk Tesco more than enough & me not greedy me not using clubcard:D

Ok, yesterday I brought a pair of socks for £1.25, for some reason they scanned as shoes and charged me £15. I went to CS to claim my DTD but they refused as it was not an overcharge but a system error. Either way I was overcharged, I stood my ground for a little while but got fed up and said I'd call CS.

I called them when I got home, it was clear to them that whatever, I was ogre charged and store should honour DTD. He called them to tell them somand I got a reference number.

I tootled back to the store today and was told they hadn't reached a decision and the matter was being investigated. I smiled and said I'd wait a while. I had a wander around the store and happened upon a Gordon Ramsey dinner set marked at £25 but scanning at £50 so paid and then claimed my DTD!!

The manager came back and said shed have to call me later as it was taking longer than expected.

I just got a message on my phone saying that in this instance they would refund me but are not happy about it. When I go for my DTD refund, I have to take my club card, her exact words were " bring in your CC as we need to monitor your purchases in future"

Now, this got my back up as they are openly saying they are going to spy on me! And does this mean that I wont get a refund if I refuse to give it over? I could just give them one then never use again as i have a few unlinked ones but from a principle point of view I don't want to.

I have called CS again to tell them how upsetting I am finding the situation and the implications of what was said. He did suggest I go to the store, again, but I sense a massive argument if I do that.

Would like to know what you'd all do? and it's a good job there's another big tesco down the road!
Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.

Are we talking about clubcard vouchers? I think thats sounds like she found somebody's club card vouchers. Tesco do not issue gift cert. She can use them but she got to use the clubcard in order to use the vouchers.

The only way cashier/supervisor are unable to trace is by giving them her fobkey clubcard & they can scan it but can't see the clubcard details. And it will of course trace it back to her account - but I won't worry about it as I have done all my 3 clubcards (different names) into one transaction without the cashier even blinking.

But the downside will be the original owner may or may not contact clubcard customer service & inform them that he/she misplace the vouchers & they (Tesco) can cancel the vouchers & reissue it to the original owner.

If these are the Tesco Vouchers that are sent out every quarter then I do believe you have to present your clubcard with them when you spend them...don't forget the person that has lost them may have reported their loss and they may well have been cancelled.

I went to CS to claim my DTD but they refused as it was not an overcharge but a system error (if it were to be my store - I would have gotten my dtd - different T treated their customers differently ). Either way I was overcharged, I stood my ground for a little while but got fed up and said I'd call CS (you should have pointed them the sign behind the customer service - refund dtd if they overcharged).

I called them when I got home ( me personally would have send an email to uncle philip & tell them you are unhappy & what are they going to do about it - make sure you put heading compensation;)), it was clear to them that whatever, I was ogre charged and store should honour DTD (yep they should the sign is behind them). He called them to tell them somand I got a reference number.(calling get you know where emailing you get a reply).

(if they are funny with your dtd go to another store with your receipt & they will be happy to pay you dtd as its obvious)

The manager came back and said shed have to call me later as it was taking longer than expected.
I just got a message on my phone saying that in this instance they would refund me but are not happy about it (send an email to Uncle Phillip & tell him exactly what they said). When I go for my DTD refund, I have to take my club card, her exact words were " bring in your CC as we need to monitor your purchases in future" (did you use your clubcard when you pay?)

Now, this got my back up as they are openly saying they are going to spy on me! (why do you think some of us don't use clubcard - if they insist just get one of the form on the day & let them scan your temp clubcard then chucked it away )And does this mean that I wont get a refund if I refuse to give it over? (yes, if you use your clubcard they have to deduct the points from your a/c) I could just give them one then never use again as i have a few unlinked ones (yes do that) but from a principle point of view I don't want to. ( you and your principle you want freebie or not:D)

I have called CS again to tell them how upsetting I am finding the situation and the implications of what was said. He did suggest I go to the store, again, but I sense a massive argument if I do that.

Would like to know what you'd all do? and it's a good job there's another big tesco down the road!

I would write to uncle phillip & tell him how bad they treated you and name the person(s) & the store.

They don't need my CC to deduct points as I got the difference back and points deducted already.

The sign behind CS has been covered now for a few months!

CS have launched an investigation into the manager as she is openly flaunting data protection.

I am compiling an email to phil right now!

    Thanks for your advice:)
