Paying balance of holiday by debit card !

Hi, paid the deposit for our holiday in March by credit card which was £165.00 and about to pay the balance due of over £1600. Am I right in thinking that the full amount is now covered by my credit card company. When I phoned up to make the payment (debit card) and asked the same question...the girl in the office said "I don't know what arrangements you have with you credit card compay". I would of thought she would of known the answer and would of had it asked before or am I just a worrier ! Credit card charge is £33.00 so for peace of mind might just pay it on my credit card !

You are right, even if you had just paid a £1 on your cc the whole amount is covered.
Mind I think there might be a glitch in that section 715 does not cover third party transactions anyway ie travel agent.
Im sure someone will come along and clarifymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

I did not make myself clear really in my first posting..... the payment I am about to make is to Villa Plus for a villa we are renting for a week. We have already paid Easyjet by credit card for the flights.0

If it is two separate transactions then only the one you paid for on the cc would be covered.
Slightly confused as you said you had paid the deposit - did what you pay before cover any form of deposit for the villa. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
If you are going to pay in full for the Villa, then pay a small part of it by cc.
Assuming that part of the aforementioned deposit didnt include anything for the Villa.
And I now presume that it is two completely sep. transactions.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

The £165 in March was the deposit for the villa only with the remainder to be paid on Monday. The flights were booked separately by ourselves and paid for fully by credit card in March.
DIY holiday...... villa and flights booked separately by us.
So the deposit I paid for the villa by credit card.....should cover the whole amount should I choose to pay the rest by debit card on Monday ?0 -

Thanks I did think in the back of my mind I would be covered....just wanted reassurance from someone. Uneasy about the holiday not being a package. Have looked at insurance to cover supplier failure protection but the quote I got for the whole family was really pricey infact ridiculous....for the price of it, me and hubby could of gone on holiday !!0
