I don't know if it's been answered already for those who asked about credit checks, I would think the answer is yes after reading the terms here -

We can at any time request evidence of identity from you and may use an ID verification agency or credit reference agency (whose names and addresses will be provided to you on request) both prior to and following issue of your Card for this purpose and who will add details to your record of our request for a search.
