a question for people that know about NAS'S

hi my old computer has just packed in and i would like to have the data on that still accessable and figure i need a NAS, but all i can find is NAS's with HDD's already installed and im looking for one with out any drives, what would i need to search i need enought space for 4 hdd totaling 2.6TB

You can get NAS enclosures without hard disks - just google to find some. The cost of these things is virtually same for the ones without a hard disk or without hard disk (for the good ones).
But if you are not intending to have network storage, all you need is a usb hard drive enclosure (much cheaper) but a good brand (not cheap chinese one).0 -

Build your own out of the old computer. I had an old PC pack up, bought 2 x 2TB drive and put Freenas on the main drive. It worked out a lot less expensive and I have a 2TB mirrored NAS drive for about £160.Please remember other opinions are available.0
