thats a really good idea curious george, ive only just started planning ours but have thought of incorporating our daughter into our special day, her name is ruby-may (born in May) so were having our special day in May, also i am looking for some flowers with Ruby in the name to do seed cards for our favours along with ruby coloured crystals with a little poem inside explaining the ruby's. Also in my bouquet ive looked up my daugthers birth flowers and my own and will be having those in my bouquet. Ive not thought of anything else as yet but i love all the little touches to a wedding!!0

Hi Sammy and twink, since seeing your idea I have been looking about for tissues and they seem to be about £1.00 a pack on ebay!! Was yours this expensive? Might personalise some glassine envelopes with stickers and ribbon and just buy plain white tissues as a cheaper option. Dont know how it will work, have a few envelopes so may try when I get some tissues. xIs a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!

Aww ladies thank you so much for these. The more I have read your posts, the more I have realised actually we do have lots of our own little touches throughout the day.
We are having the tissues, I was thinking of just getting plain white ones and tying them with purple ribbon (our colour theme) into little bundles. We are also having confetti cones with petals I am drying myself. I think I will do something for the guests who are staying over but not sure what yet as there could be quite a lot! I am having my late nans brooch on my handtied bouquet. We should do something to incorporate my late grandad but it is still quite raw with my nan so not sure it's a great idea. I am wearing my mum's veil. The table names are from a travelling holiday we had and are going to contain pictures of us in that place.
I suppose all those things really make it our day and are our little touches!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/14

I had a brainwave driving home from work yesterday.
I'm going to put as many anniversary cards that I can find, that we've sent each other in the years leading up to our wedding, in a large frame.
I have a frame that we no longer use which is perfect...and I've managed to find 8 out of the 11 cards that he's sent me so far - will (hopefully) have one more to add this summer coming. I've found 2 of the ones I gave him lol. Had a bit of a play tonight and I think they look brill.
I now just need to decide where to hang it on the day!0 -
How about a grooms gift for him to open on the morning (assuming you aren't spending your last night together). It could be something romantic and soppy (like a poem about why you can't wait to be his groom), something practical and resourceful (have seen bride to bes doing a little hamper with things like socks incase he gets cold feet), or it could be something totally random (like a note from his favourite football team), it could even be something hot and steamy (like some lingerie you will wear later).
Love this idea, thank you
Me and my OH both love our photos, so I have borrowed and scanned some of his younger years photos, and done the same with mine, and I am going to add some current photos of us both etc. Am going to put them in little albums on the tables as I think it might be a nice conversation breaker with other people on the tables.
I've also made a wishing well and am decorating it with our colours for people to put any cards into.
I'm in the process of designing my own guest book like this one: http://www.guestbookstore.com/wedding.html Have got one page done I think. Will post a thread when I have finished to see if anyone wants a template.
I'm making my own cupcakes. 6 different flavours and a fruit cake to cut too. I used to have a little business making cakes, so I kind of think I should do something special - but I know I will be short on time so cupcakes are ideal as they only take a few minutes to cook. Have got my bridesmaid on helping / washing up duties too :rotfl:
I'm doing goodie bags for the kids who are attending the ceremony with the I spy game like found on here: http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/article/i-spy-conversation-starter
Have tried to involve my little girl (5) as much as possible too. Want it to be her day too, as its the day we become a family. So she is 'chief' bridesmaid and I have got her some clip on earrings which she will love, and have got her a few little special things like a bridesmaid memory book.

I did this for my wedding and it was brilliant! I gave mine a bit of a tropical theme since we got married abroad so my template would probably be of no use to anyone but the questions got some good answers! I had a space to draw themselves and another space to draw us, then I think my questions were 'How many babies will they have? Barbie Girls or Rugby Boys?', 'If the B&G were superheros what would their powers be?', 'What has been your favourite part of the day?', 'Words of wisdom for the happy couple'... I can't remember the rest off the top of my head!
It kept everyone entertained and we all had a good laugh at the finished pages, would definitely recommend this!

our little touches are going to double up as decorations for us.
We're hoping to have a long washing line of twine and peg photos of us as kids, teenagers and then together up on it. We're getting the photos 40 free prints from photobox or somewhere similar.
We're also thinking of having a matching string with the place cards on it instead of a seating plan. to do this we're buying brown luggage tags off ebay and then tying them to the string with ribbon that matches the colour scheme
A table with photos of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days. think we might also include photos of close family who have passed away. Similar to the family tree someone else posted. These are hopefully going to be included in the 40 free prints we're getting and we're just going to use a mix of photoframes we have lying around the house.
We'll probably name the tables after places we've been together or are important to us: London, Rome, Northumberland, Rhosneigr etc0 -
