Recommendations for student laptop?

Can anyone recommend the above? Need something fairly fast, reliable, prefer Intel, webcam, 3 USB ports etc. Will need shipped offshore so Curry's etc is out. Oh and don't want a Dell.

International warranty not needed as will be used in UK. Budget £500 ish.0

You may find a laptop too bulky (particularly if walking/cycling) to regularly carry around campus, into lectures and the library. A better solution might be to have a desktop (£300) in your accommodation and a netbook (£200) to carry around.604!0
