Lloyds TSB Student Account Advice...?

I have a Lloyds TSB student account that I opened in 2008. Currently, my Experian score is very poor at 460 due to defaulting on phone bills around 3 years ago (before I opened this account). Should I wait a while to apply for a Lloyds TSB credit card so my score can improve? Finally, as this is a student account do I need to formally ask to change to a graduate or will they invite me? Also, when they review my overdraft do you think they'll cancel it, keep the same or increase?
Thanks
Thanks

Forget the credit card for at least 6 years from the date of default.
They may well invite you to change the account to a Graduate but don't expect to get a free (or paid for) overdraft or offer of a Graduate loan for the same reason as above.0
