Because of the house name on the mail, I have deduced most of the over 50 stuff is coming via Abbey with whom we had our mortgage.

I love it because it all goes through the shredder to make bedding for our chickens then goes into the compost bins after to make compost for the veg garden.

  • I realised reading this that despite being over 50 I don't get any junk snail mail, except from companies I've bought from in the past. I have been signed up to MPS for years so perhaps that's helped.

Unwanted phone calls have stopped completely since I bit the bullet and got truecall. That's an average of 3 annoying calls a day I don't have any longer:D

Have also gone ex directory, and don't allow my full details on electoral roll.

I am supposed to be on the tel preference service but still got marketing calls. But oddly, when I retired, the calls stopped. Database state or what? Not complaining but it's like I suddenly became a non person!

I put all of my junk mail back in the mailbox, return to sender. Hopefully they will eventually get the message and it gives me a modicum of satisfaction to think they will have to pay for receiving it.

Perhaps if we all did the same it may make these companies review their marketing strategy?

They dont take any notice of returned mail so you are wasting your time. They make far far more from people that do buy to worry about returned mail.
