Hi there we had our offer accepted on a property yesterday but what happens now? I've picked a solicitors and are going into bank tomorrow to sort out the survey. Is it then all up to the solicitors?

If you're buying with a mortgage you'll need to tell the mortgage company so they can do a proper valuation. And you'll want to arrange a survey if you want one doing.0

It will all depend on the figure that your mortgage lender values the property at .......
The vendor may have accepted your offer but in the current climate the valuation survey may well be considerably lower that what you expected .......0 -

the estate agent will pass details onto everyone's solicitor in due course. You will inform the mortgage company who will do a survey. And once that's in you can start spending money on everything else
Really your estate agent should be the centre of a wheel, and is able to talk to everyone for you - for free! Bear in mind though that they are working on behalf of the seller. But they are my first port of call to find out where everyone is at and who is waiting for what because everyone will speak to them. And they don't cost me money - whereas my solicitor does.
So, keep them informed and keep talking to them - but be cynical because they work for the other side.
Your solicitor will do what they do with very little input from you - and you need to remain on top of the mortgage side of things so your money lines up.0 -
Thanks thats perfect!
We got quite a bit knocked off so not too worried about the valuation. I know it's not over priced.0
