Hi
I know there is a minimum amount of time you need to be in a new job before you can get a mortgage - does anyone know how long it is please? I had 3 months in my head but maybe it varies from provider to provider?
Thanks in advance

Generally there is no minimum, but it could cause rejections for some providers, or affect the rates you can get. I got my mortgage after myself and my partner were in jobs for about 4-5 months but were told, by the broker, that we might have been able to achieve better rates if we'd been there 1+ year.0

It varies with the different lenders.
Me and my boyfriend had been in our jobs for about a month when we got our mortgage with Santander last year. We went through a broker who looked for mortgages with '0 months in current job' in the terms, to avoid any problems. We did have to provide a copy of our contracts and I had one payslip to show them.0 -
Thanks, that's helpful.0
