Edf gas & electric single energy bill

Could anyone please advise me if EDF can absolutely insist that Gas and Electricity be paid as one payment on one bill. Can I say NO to their new policy and insist on keeping Gas and Electricity separate, therefore paying these bills on different dates. Please could someone advise me. Thanks

Yes - they told me same thing as well. They are also making their billing every 6 months instead of quarterly. Not happy about this. The only way I can think of to keep separate gas and elec billing, is to make the gas and elec accounts in separate name ie your partner's name. But I don't know how I can continue to receive quarterly billing.

Georgia, I think the clue in in the name - "'Dual' fuel tariff"! Why unnecessarily double the administration costs? If easier you can keep a separate account for your debits and top up the balance according to your own schedule. Most banks will not charge you for depositing or transferring monies by whichever methods you please. A one-off stretch to leap ahead is all that is needed.

And, Lindabea, only having half as many times to alter a Direct Debit (a quarter as many if you are counting both fuels separately) is to your preference - surely more likely to be a lot less chaotic or subject to the whims of their (clearly faulty to you) algorithms. You should be wholeheartedly embracing this policy.
