Query about 3's return policy

Is 3's return policy legal??
I'm very interested in 3's one plan for the amount of data, texts and calls but worried about signal and customer services, I also have reservations as it states in their returns policy that in order to return & cancel the contract the phone has to be unused!? How can you test the signal strength and ease of phone use if you are not allowed to use it???

how strange i have just posted about three and returns / exchange if your not tied to three yet i would say stay away you get what your give like it or lump (pay) for it

Order a free PAYG sim and check the signal with some other phone or with the new phone. If the latter, do this with extreme caution so that it kept looking like new and unused.

I don't think the latter idea works as someone on the thread "3 are the cheapest are they the best" stated that they were able to reject the phone return because the recipient had made some texts (sending out their new number) but it had taken a long time as they had hardly any signal the majority of the time, especially in their house & that's why they had bought it! But 3 wouldn't take it back!

Don't buy 3. I'm looking to move away from them, their customer service is absolute rubbish. I had thought it was just the sales staff in my local three shop, but their call centre staff read from scripts, only know one or two stock phrases and appear to have no independent thoughts.

I agree after 6 years of them, avoid its got worse

I did return it after 1 week & used it. The first time the sales guy said i could use it up to 14days & i wasent happy with it so returned it, the 2nd time different shop i got the manager to sign to say i could return it
Upto 14 days used or not. I kept it,had it 6months sofar so good
So get them to sign to agree you can return it if your not happy with it
