Hi all, I signed up just to make this post!

Beware of Honest rewards. I have spent hours of hard work filling out online surveys and have given them a tonne of my personal details, save for my address out of common sense.

After all my hard work and supposedly all the money I have built up in my account, I was unable to get it transferred. The only support they give is an email address for which they do not respond.

I have just checked with the The Market Research Society and they are NOT registered with them.

Honest rewards is certainly not honest. Honest rewards = Honest scam more like.

  • I can't comment on whether they actually reward you or not since I only accrued enough for a payment a few days ago I did however have cause to contact them regarding payment last week. I received a response via email from them but it did take about 3 days for them to respond.

I did a quick WHOIS search of their domain name. Heres what I got...

    178 Malyons Road
    Ladywell
    SE13 7XF
    United Kingdom

Suprise suprise, 178 is a gap between terraces which is actually a Thames water land that looks empty. Most hosts will ban a user who lies about their physical address.

On their actual website however, they have another address.

    1 Hillfield Square
    Chalfont St Peter
    Bucks
    SL9 0DY

This time it's a detached house.

    I smell a rat.
  • I have been a member of this online survey site for approximately 7 months - approx 15 weeks ago, I reached the £15 threshold for withdrawing the cash I had made by completing various surveys and have been awaiting my cash ever since!

When I have emailed, they say its in the post - its a con - do not join up - not sure what the scam is but they have details - just glad they dont have my bank details etc.

Very annoying you do the work filling in the surveys -so please be aware of this.

A highly recommended UK market research panel. As well as guaranteeing survey rewards equivalent to £6+ an hour and £40+ an hour for face-to-face research, they also offer product tests (which you get to keep) and offer bonuses for referring friends.

The proprietor can be discovered without difficulty.

I'm sorry to say that this type of offer is vitually certain to be a waste of your effort, and his.

I am a member on Honest Rewards and I am not happy with the company. Since March 2011 I have accrued £14.68 in rewards and that's it! Each time a new survey appears I spend ages on what seem to be actual survey questions only to find that I suddenly find I "Do not qualify". Interestingly their Facebook page has a number of negative posts.

My hunch is that many people are suckered in to competing surveys and giving over information to just below the "claim" threshold then forgotten about.

Be interesting to see if anyone else has the same issue.
  • I must have been lucky. I've been a member of Honest Rewards for about a year or so. I've so far had pay outs of £30. It did take a few weeks, but I was eventually paid by pay pal.
  • I am being scammed by Honest Rewards as we speak. I cashed in my points in September and have still not received any money despite 15 emails back and forth. A guy called Wes Murphy keeps telling me 'the cheque is in the post', 'the cheque is not in the post due to people trying to rip them off', the cheque will be in the post shortly' etc. etc. This is disgusting. I do surveys for other companies and they pay promptly with no hassle whatsoever. DO NOT DO SURVEYS FOR HONEST REWARDS - THEY ARE A CON!!!!!!!!! Incidentally, does anyone know where I can go to lodge a formal complaint against these con artists.?

I think #178 is next door (the one with the black door):

If your complaint involves the conduct of a company or its officers, for example:

If you are owed money by a company for any reason
If you believe that a company or officer of the company is acting in a fraudulent manner
You should contact Companies Investigation Branch (CIB). Details of how to make a complaint to them can be obtained by contacting them on 02075966100, or visiting their website https://www.insolvency.gov.uk/cib/contact.htm

C.I.B will usually take on any complaint that provides good reason for an investigation and where there is both a public interest in investigating and the prospect of follow up action resulting. Generally there must be reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, serious misconduct or material irregularity in a company’s affairs.

    Further Support

For further advice and support relating to matters of fraud, please visit Action Fraud, the UK’s national fraud reporting centre via their website: https://www.actionfraud.org.uk/
