Does anyone know how I can get some acrylic varnish off my slate window sills? my huband put it on a few years ago ( i was not very happy) and now it is peeling an looks terrible, I have rubbed it with the grain with very fine wire wool, and some has come off, but i wondered if I could use a mild abbrasive cleaner like jif? then I can put beeswax polish or something on them to seal them

I would try warming up the acrylic then scrape it off carefully, reseal with linseed oil. We have a slate hearth and it looks fanflippin tastic when oiled. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
