Hi
I've had problems with my laptop and the physical memory reached 98%!!!However,a friend removed a couple of processes that were using up virtually the whole of the memory of 4 m (I'm not sure about the terminology:o) and now the physical memory is around 40-44% and the laptop is working fine.
Is this about the correct % for this type of laptop?
Thanks.

I assume you mean 4Gigabytes of memory.
CPU usage depends on what programmes you are running.
If the system is idle I'd expect less than 5 or 10%.have another look at the task manager and see whats using up the CPU/memory.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
do you mean 4GB?
Yes its very possible.
For example: say you have youtube on which takes 1GB, a game taking 1.5GB, system taking 1GB then you would have 500mb of RAM free.
If you run too many applications then your PC will freeze up. try to make sure you generally only use 60% of the RAM.0 -
thanks - yes 4gb - the only programme running is me using the internet and even when it was just idle the physical memory was 40%ish (1.66gb)Keep the Faith:cool:0
