Party wall complications ?

Im near to completion on a house purchase.
After reading a few horror stories about party walls i thought i would enquire.
The house i am buying, the side of it is on the boundary of the property, i.e to access it i need to stand on next doors land. This is fine i dont have a problem with it.
The thing thats made me think is there is a gate from their garage, going up to our house wall. A strip of metal is secured to our house. I dont imagine this would cause a problem other than nouise if they use the gate often ( i think its probably unlikely and just for security )
Is there anything here "wrong" i.e drilled in to "my" wall etc. ? What normally happens with things like this. The house is fully detached otherwise.
Cheers folks

They would probably have asked the old owners if it was ok to drill, if their gate was to cause damage to your house then they would be responsible. Chances are there is nothing to worry about.0
