USB to IDE?
Is it supposed to be compatible with 64-bit versions?0 -
Are you plugging it straight into the USB port on the rear of the PC?
Sometimes going though USB Hubs can cause this sort of problem0 -
Do you get the 'recognition bleep' when you plug the device in?
Sounds hardware related rather than software, if you plug a device in win 7 should recognise something, even if it can't support what you plugged in. You sure you're getting enough juice out of the USB ports to properly power up the drives? Just hearing them spin up doesn't necessarily mean they have enough power for correct operation. Of course I'm assuming that the drives are usb powered.0 -
I just hear my hard disk spinning when in my pc the device works fine on laptop drive shows up you get asked if want to open files and thats with vista and on my pc windows 7 64 i have tried various usb ports front and back and have used 2 seperate hard drives plugged in to this device no joy they alll work fine on laptop so device and hard drive are fine just on pc but any pen drives i put in my pc work no problem .
what ithe device is you put a IDE cable and power cable, to a internal hard drive or disk drive and it makes it external which runs off usb"red sky at night angel delight, red sky in the morning...ANGEL DELIGHT!!0 -

You could try a powered usb hub...
