What should I do - neighbours barking dogs

  • I have a house in Florida and one of the neighbours' there has had her dog debarked. I never knew there was such a thing but if your dog is a nuisance barker the vet does something to the vocal chords and the dog can still bark but in a whisper. I asked if that was cruel but she said "not as cruel as having to get rid of him". I do not think vets here are allowed to do it.
  • Get a council letter out and scan it into your PC. Then copy the logo onto a word document and type a letter saying that they had received a lot of complaints from the local residents and that they were giving a written warning to sort it out else they'd be forced to take further action. Print it out, stick it in a brown envelope and post it through your neighbours door.

The neighbour will be scared their dogs might end up being taken away or them being fined they will have no choice but to sort it out.

Before anyone comes along questions the legality of impersonating the council. It's just a harmless prank between friendly neighbours ;) But saying that, you'd have to be pretty stupid to get caught.

rather than do prank letters which could cause upset - just mention t to your neighbour as other posts have said they may not even know. They would probably appreciate this more than reporting it straight away.

I had a Dobermann for 11 years, very quiet when I was at home but she would bark/whine when left alone.....exercise and company is required, the breed are highly strung and need company, sorry I cannot offer any better advice.

Wax earplugs if your partner can tolerate them.

    Good luck
