  • I got a rate of 12.9% as a new Halifax customer - and a £9700 limit.

Pleased at that, although I never carry a balance on a credit card.
Please note that any posts that I make on here are based on my personal opinion, experience and what I have read.

I have 21.9% APR and a £500 credit limit. But I was just pleased to get the credit card because I can only get the ones for bad credit history so I have a Barclaycard Initial and in the past the Capital One card so I was over the moon to get a card I can use abroad. It''s because I bank with them though and got the message when I logged onto banking that I was guaranteed to be accepted. I pay it off in full every month so hoping my limit will be increased for my hols :)

21.9% for me - I am a longstanding customer of Halifax but I never carry a balance & pay off in full every month. I am going travelling later in the year and will be withdrawing cash on the card, so I will suffer some interest, but at 1.6% a month, its still not too bad.

    I got 21.9%.
Not bothered though as I've always had a DD setup to repay in full :)

same for me... I was a bit shocked to begin with (have a Natwest World at 16.9 %), but as I pay it in full, it doesn't matter...I love the 5ver each month if I spend over £300...:D

My initial rate was 12.9%, this is dropping for across the board (purchases, cash withdrawals etc) to 6.9% from 1st August.

I've got a rate of 12.9%, had two Halifax cards before for about three years. Previous rates of 14ish% and 9ish%. This is only my third card and I only have a limit of £500.

Interesting. I take it you received a letter informing you of this?

I've also got the 21.9% rate. Never missed a payment on a CC in all my life- it did kinda cross my mind why but not really bothered.

It could be 219%, it gets paid in full and I get the free £5.

I applied online for this card in mid May. I was succesfully accepted and duly sent my signed copy of the terms and conditions back to Halifax.

To date I have not received my card and my holiday is fast approaching. I was just wondering if anyone could advise what the usual lead time is from sending off the the T&C's to getting a fully functional credit card.

    Thanks
