Asda offer is on their front page. http://www.asda.co.uk/ (scroll through the big banner at the top)
Any 3 packs of a limited range of uniform for £9.
I have had 3 boys in school uniform for over 10 years now altogether, and have tried M&S, Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda and Mothercare. In my opinion Asda boys school trousers last the longest - unless your kids have a tendency to skid around the playground on their knees like mine do, when nothing will survive! Their button-up shirts and polo shirts are fine too. They definately get my vote for school uniform when you consider both cost and durability.0 -
But that makes sense to me because you can go up a size or two with shorts to get a better fit on the waist (they will be a bit longer, but that's often not a problem - my boys actually prefer longer shorts), but going up trouser sizes ends up with them definately being too long, hence the need for the plus size.
It sort of works that way with pyjama bottoms or loose summer shorts, but school shorts aren't generous enough for my son, not even in the bigger sizes. His hips are really wide (rugby player build) and he has a chubby bottom and thighs. He's huge, his bone structure is just much bigger than the average child. His head is enormous too, so I struggle to find polo shirts that fit over his head, socks to fit his ankles, coats that have enough wrist room, shoes that are wide and high enough etc.
He's like a different breed of dog to other children - even if he didn't have a chubby bottom and thighs he'd still be too wide for standard fit clothes. His height has always been off the top of the health visitor charts. I dread to think how I'd clothe him if he got a fat waist or belly :rotfl:
I will have a look though - he's 5 and I buy age 8 clothes for him, so perhaps if they make shorts in age 10 or 11 they might be generous enough.
I am looking for an explanation on how to turn trousers into shorts, because every time I try it it goes horribly wrong
Anyway, back to the school uniform discussion
Tesco clothing have 20% off this weekend, on their facebook page. I have ordered school trousers for my teenager (who is standard fit). 52% tight0 -
People who recommend M&S polo shirts, are you talking about the outstanding value ones, or the more expensive ones, please? I didn't expect to have to choose WHICH white polo shirts to pick - AARGH! This school uniform lark is confusing...June GC 21st May - 20th June (£78/£200)0

The outstanding value ones are good for the money - or at least they were when I bought them couple of years ago. They lasted my daughter from Jan - Sept when she was in nursery. They were starting to get slightly tatty looking by Sept.
She now has the better quality ones which are thicker/firmer and do look a slightly better.
For my son who starts nursery I am going to get the cheaper ones and then maybe the better ones when he moves up into the school.
At nursery I found my daughters were getting lots of stains on them so chucked a few of them out - I would rather get more of the cheaper ones for my son so I can bin some if needed.0 -

If anyone's interested Tesco were putting out a 'PE kit for £10' display stand this morning.
It's a pack of 2 shorts, pack of 2 plain white t-shirts, pack of socks and a pair of trainers. She hadn't finished it when I left, and the trainers and socks for boys that were on the stand didn't appeal. The girls selection included pretty trainers, and packs of socks with blue or green gingham frills.
EDIT: here's the link, although the socks I saw today aren't included here https://www.clothingattesco.com/icat/bts-pe-bundle
I'm going to keep an eye on the stand instore, see if they include anything that's not in the link. I'm hoping for black trainers, lol52% tight0
