How do I stop family member using my name for savings/investements?

You should perhaps make sure that no debt is being built up in your name too. Get hold of your Experian credit report, ensure they have your old address details too. That will also give you some indication of recent searches on accounts made in the last year, plus all your credit account details.0

Mail addressed to you at his address? Isn't it illegal for him to open it? Or is it just a question of right and wrong?
Tell the Premium Bonds people that he has taken out bonds under your name, and I'm sure they will take care of all the rest for you.
You MUST disentangle yourself though.0 -
This person sounds like a bully.
As you say - you are now grown up. You need to stand up to this person and let them know that things have changed. If you don't feel confident to stand up to him alone then perhaps a family member or a friend can help you.
The power in this relationship has now changed and he needs to know it. You can report him to the tax authorities, the police, or try to get hold of the money in your name. He won't want any of this.
You need to demand to know what is in your name, and set him a deadline when this information needs to be provided to you and changed out of your name. If he doesn't do it you will take action.
I know this is easy to say but I think it is the answer. Good Luck.0 -
Can you afford to put a redirection on with the Post Office for your name at his address?
You might be lucky enough to work out from incoming mail what he's done, before he realises! :j:D:beer::eek::A:p:rotfl::cool::):(:T0 -
He's probably using your ISA allowance up also. You need to do something about this asap IMO, if he ever gets "found out" by the authorities then you may find yourself having to do some explaining to convince them you're not complicit in the fraud.0

Don't take this the wrong way, but the police are not going to be interested in this as you willingly signed the documents. So not fraud in their eyes. This is something for the tax authorities to deal with. Remember that you will be looked at and investigated aswell as you clearly knew for a while this is wrong in what he has been doing. So please choose your words carefully when you contact them. As i don't wish this to back fire onto you.
Good luck in getting him out of your life.Must save to live, not just live to save!!! :think:Challenge Save 12k in 2019 #141 £6,143.34/£6kDeposit £82,317.88/£120K :jFees/ect £12K/£12K:jEmergency fund £1K/£1K:A:A'Saving again after parting with a lot of money enjoying life:rotfl::A0 -
without the account numbers, even though they may be in my name, I cannot access them to close them.
Of course you can.
You simply write to the bank by recorded delivery asking for full details of all accounts held in your name. Mark the letter "DATA PROTECTION ACT -SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST" and include a cheque for £10.00
They are legally obliged to give you ALL information held on their systems about you.
Then write again asking for all of the funds to be to be sent or transferred where you request. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

OP, I appreciate that you don't want to take this person's money but it's worth considering that the easiest way to solve the matter MIGHT be to close all the accounts, take the money and then hand it back to him (if you want to). That way, you can be sure that the accounts are closed because you will have done it yourself.
I would go to the police personally. You may have signed the documents but were you a minor at the time? Or just being controlled by this person? It's worth reporting it so that it's on file, at the very least.0 -
I would make sure that YOU do everything you can to find out any accounts and debts. I don't think i would trust him to tell you the complete truth about what he's done.0

Go to the police - its identity fraud.
Hey Mr Policemen I would like to complain about somebody who has stolen my ID and keeps giving me money.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is.
