Annual Gold card provides discount train travel?!
Hi there
Did everyone else know that if you have an annual travelcard in London then you are entitled to a third off train travel in the south east for yourself and others travelling with you?! (I couldn't post the link but if you google it a national rail page comes up.) I had no idea! And am really annoyed that I have wasted money on full price tickets  up until the nice guy at Waterloo told me I could get money off. Luckily it's only been around 6 weeks since I got my travelcard. I did write to tfl to ask for some vouchers in compensation since I bought the travelcard from them and they didn't advise me of the scheme. I'm not sure if I'll get anything back but I might aswell try! Still, thought it would be good to spread the word incase other people out there don't know either.

Here's the link...

Not just London though.
Gold Cards were introduced in 1987, so not new.
Effectively a yearly season ticket with a free Network Railcard included.
Good to have a reminder... thanks.0 -
There are/used to be several things like this that were available if you had an annual season ticket. The rail forums were always full of people asking where the cheapest annual season ticket was on the UK rail system !!
IIRC it was Ryde Esplanade to Ryde St Johns Rd. Just looked, an annual ticket is £140 - if you can then get 33% off all your other tickets - well worth doing !
IF it is still available ..........0
