Dell inspiron mini netbook keyboard problem!

Hi all. My dell's keyboard is on the fritz and i dont know why! The keys dont work properly. Holding down the function key i can type aeiou but nothing else. I have worked out that 'space' is now M and 'return' is now R! I cant type in my password on the login screen so i cant even get into user control panel! If anyone knows of this problem please help as the netbook is useless other wise!

(p.s i dont have SCRL LCK or NMBR LCK keys on the keyboard)

    Remember the space between the . and m (had to add a space because of forum restrictions).

    Try booting up with a live USB OS to see if it's the same.

    Ubuntu or PenDrive Linux are good places to begin.
