Sorry to bump but id like to buy some but not sure if buying branded ones like energizer is worth it compared to teh ones on 7 day shop0

I've used the 7dayshop.com 2800mah AA rechargeables and they're first class, last longer than AA alkaline batteries, they do 2900mah now too, i'd reccomend them to anyone.0

Sanyo Eneloop every time.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
I used to use and recommend 7dayshop's batteries but I've found the quality variable and the performance with some demanding applications (digital field recorders, for example) quite poor. These days, if it's mission critical (and I consider camera batteries to be so), I stick with Energiser rechargeables, which I've found more consistent. I do buy them from 7dayshop, though, as their prices are still very good.
Don;t buy a cheap charger, though - it will most likely wreck whatever batteries you put in it. Buy the best you can afford.0 -
Make sure that you buy a smart charger that is microprocessor controlled. These charge your batteries in a few hours rather than the cheaper "trickle" chargers which can take 24 hours.
The smart chargers can also charge partly drained batteries safely.
DO NOT TRY AND RECHARGE ALKALINE BATTERIES WITH ONE OF THESE CHARGERS

Sanyo Eneloop are the best.
7day shop are rubbish and no-where near their rated capacity.
The best charger analyser you can get is the Maha

Expensive but if you are into your batteries well worth the price.0 -

Agree, though I use the Ansmann version of this type of low discharge battery. This new type of rechargeable has given all my battery powered devices a new lease of life.
If you want ot have a dabble on the cheap, try the 7Dayshop "Good to Go" range, barely more expensive then standard Alkalines.
Someone did a load of research and the distinction is between the Japanese originating ones and the Chinese sourced ones, latter all not as good - but even the worst performers are much better than the best of ye olde NiMh types.

One thing that's clear is that there are really only a few manufacturers of these batteries and if you are canny, you can work out which is which.
As for chargers, I have a micro-processor controlled La Crosse, which I bought in the USA (I see Amazon UK has them now). I can thoroughly recommend them, but I couldn't say the same for some of the stuff 7dayshop sells under its own name. I've had a few of those down the years and haven't been at all impressed.
Buy a good charger, whatever you do.0
