New On Ebay..I Only Have A Maestro Card.

I'm new to ebay and have bid on a few things. I got an mail in My Ebay from a Seller wanting me to reply to confirm I am a genuine buyer. Probably nervous about the Zero Feedback.

However ebay then asks for me to put a Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard) on file before I can send my reply. I only have a Maestro Debit Card.

I sent an email to ebay, and they said I should build positive feedback by buying cheap items and put a Credit Card on file to remove "activity limits". (Duh). Obviously I can't do the Credit Card verification part.

Will everything work out ok?

Yeh that should be fine! do they not offer you to verify by giving a phone number and they ring you for a code? That would be easier.

The way most people get feedback is buying a few cheaper items........ just build it up that way, also gives you experience!

Yes, I did the verification thing with Paypal, they rung me with the code.

Just wondered if not having a Credit Card on file on ebay would give me problems?

I have never had a credit card on file with Ebay. Even when I got my cashplus card I still never added it as I didn't see any need.
I use my Bank account for Paypal anyway.
I have been with ebay for about 6 years now and have over 200 pos feedback so I guess I don't run into that problem anymore anyway.

I've added a Maestro card to my ebay account before - this was early this year.

Oh, I couldn't add my Maestro card, it wanted a Visa or Mastercard debit card (stumped).

Yikes. Ok, I'm being dumb, but what is a prepaid Credit Card, and where can I get one?

The one I use is Cashplus.

They charge you an initial fee of £9.95 then either £4.95 a month or £1 per transaction.

There are others, I believe that TalkSport do one too but don't know anything about it apart from hearing it being advertised on the station.

Isn't it true that you need to file your credit card and your bank details if you wanna sell on ebay? Second question it how do scammers re-register on ebay when their account is suspended?

I added the card under the Visa option and it went through fine
