Our application to the FF probably took around 3-4 months, because a local officer had to visit us at our house to discuss our finances and assess our needs; they then reported back to the FF who advised us of the final decision.

We didn't try for holiday vouchers; instead, they funded Marley's driving lessons & test, greatly easing journeys to take Andrew for his numerous hospital appointments and to specialist toddler groups. :)

You complete a financial statement as part of the application, so they probably take into consideration both the level of income and the level of expenditure. I don't think they actually publish what the limits are, so that every application is considered on individual merits.

Well according to the site they have changed the criteria now so as long as you get tax credits you should be ok (as long as you meet the other criteria)

I think the income cut off point is £27000 this year, including any and all benefits. It is the first year that benefits have been included, but the cut off point is higher than before.
