Greenhouse window whitewash on other windows?

Has anyone tried using that greenhouse coolant whitewash (coolglass) on windows other than greenhouses.

We have a massive window facing right into the sun and we are boiling hot already. IT's an office window and a whole wall. We did have some lovre blinds fitted by landlord but they are ancient and missing a lot of the stats, and it would cost £100s that we don't have to buy new ones.

I was considering using that greenhouse stuff? Has anyone else tried it on a building windows? Does it make a mess everywhere? Does it work?

I've found one online called 'nixol' that reacts to the weather. I assume this one is painted on the outside as it goes white when dry and clear when wet. At about £9 a tub that's a much cheaper solution than buying blinds!

    Greenhouses

All I know is sweetcorn should be outside and tomato plants should be grown inside, here is some very useful advice, if you ever have any problems with pesticides go on to eBay and you can buy a smoke bomb called fumite, its simple to use looks similar to a small firework, all you do is set it off and keep greenhouse sealed for two hours. This will kill every living insect/pest in the greenhouse, just make sure you wash your fruits when harvesting. Hope this helps

I use a mirror film on my windows. It was primarily to stop people staring into our living room as they walked past however it seems to keep the flat nice and cool in the summer - not sure whether it reflects the sun but it has definately made a difference.

I got it from ebay and it was really easy to put on and unless I point it out no one notices.

Look for solar film on eBay: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=solar+film&_sacat=See-All-Categories

How big is the window? If it is for the office it'll be a business expense.

Thanks both for the film suggestion, I'lll take a look. The windows are massive, practically the whole wall...roughly 8foot high x about 30 foot long!

Wow, I see what you mean, so 3m x 10m. I'd go for film, it is dead cheap and will look better than that white paint stuff. Would cost the same as well if you shop around.
