post virus problem

firstly please excuse me as i'm the most no techy person ever.basically had a virus,think it was called"fraud something recovery"anyway according to google it's quite common and the latest big thing.anyways used malwarebyte which seems to have got rid.however my PC isnt quite back to it's old self.
firstly all my desk top icons have vanished,not sure if they have all been wipped,or if hiding somewhere.The same with my pictures folder,and the sidebar with all the windows icon stuff is blank as well.but all those programs are still on computer like paint box e.t.c,as are the desktop programs.which makes me think the icons are hiding somewhere.

another weird thing is that i can't seem to load a screensaver,after the virus the screen was just totally black,have managed to change the colour,as a black screen is a bit depressing.but cant put a snazy pic to stare at all day

all this stuff is convenience and surface just would be nice to have things totally back to normal.however all my missing screenshots from my pictures folder are quite important to me for work.whats the most likely they are hiding somewhere or have been wiped?

Try system restore, choose a date before everything happened.

Alternatively first use unhide to restore hidden files:
