DOS screen zoom problem

Hi,

I play ricochet lost worlds which I think loads up in DOS (well the screen goes black and theres a click when the game starts so I presume it's DOS !)

Anyway for the last few days the game has been out of focus and bigger than the screen so that I can't see all of it. I just downloaded another (different) game and it too has the same problem !

Any ideas

Many thanks in advance.

It uses DirectX, not DOS, so it's not going to be a DOS problem.

The game requires a resolution of at least 800x600. Have you checked your desktop resolution to make sure it's at least this or bigger (Right click on desktop->Properties->Settings, you will find screen resolution in there)

What do you mean exactly by out of focus? :)

I think it's probably because the game is zoomed in so far that it looks blurry !

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately I've tried all the settings on screen res. and nothing has any affect when the game starts it's still outside the screen area. (Incidentally during normal windows the screen area is fine)

  • The problem solved itself today. My CRT monitor packed up. I only realised after I went to Comet and got a new LCD monitor that the old CRT was failing. Ricochet plays fine on the new monitor as does everything else. Should have dragged myself into the 21st century long ago
