Letting Agents Fees

Hi,

I'm looking to move apartments soon. I understand that letting agents have their own fees to charge. But when it comes to the credit check etc I have only recently had one done, about 4 months a go.

Is there anyway that I can get around this fee and use the same check as I had previously?

Also, I would appreciate any tips on negotiating with the letting agents on their fees.

Many thanks in advance,

Alex

I doubt it. You might have received a CCJ in the interim. Speaking as a LL, I'd insist on an up to date credit check.

The agent has a duty to the landlord to provide them with upto date references and credit checks etc, so they will carry out new ones.

All agents fees are different, but considering there are so many people looking to rent at present it is unlikely many agents will reduce their fees when they will have a number of tenants looking for similar things. You can only try though.
