Wooden Style Shutters, recommendations please

Hi everyone

This is my first day posting on MSE…second post for today :T

We are looking to fit wooden style plantation shutters in our front room bay window. We had a quote from Hilary’s which was about £1500 for 3 windows in total. We thought that was a bit steep.

Does anyone have any recommendations on companies they have used that provide a good quality service and product at a reasonable price? We live in North London (zone 2).

Thanks for reading

I'm afraid I don't know how much we paid as it was a gift from my parents, but here's the company we used in SE London last year. They did great work and the shutters are lovely.

  • Shutterly Fabulous are supposed to be very good
  • Any recommendations for the North West of England?
  • Hi all

I ended up using Shutters Up in the end. Really lovely company that wanted to be competitive on price and win the business. I used CP shutters too, which did give me a very competitve quote in about £890 (also very nice), but Shutters Up beat that by £50 as I explained they will need to do better then just match the price. The third quote was Hilary's blinds, which was truly overpiced and the sales person was awful.

Really happy with my new shutters

I'm having quotes for shutters too. Shutterly Fabulous are really expensive and so is their sister diy company. Had also quotes from Shaftesbury Shutters (not too bad), but I think in the end I'll go with Key west shutters, they have 25% off at the moment, so their price came the cheapest. The sales guy coming round tomorrow!
  • Great to have some recommendations here, as shutters are such a costly investment, but really worth it I think.

Apparently Thomas Sanderson are doing 3 for 2 offer at the moment.
