18185 unable to action direct debit details!

We've had a 18185 account for the last 3 months and find it to be an excellent service for reducing our phone bills. However, when it comes to paying our invoice by direct debit 18185 claims to be unable to get the payment actioned. Despite the confirmation email from 18185 showing the correct bank details and account names, they claim that the bank has declined payment with the suggestion that we change to a credit card payment. Our bank has never had any contact from 18185 and strongly recommend not setting up a credit card payment. We went to the 18185 web page and selected our payment details page, this displayed account number, sort code but no account holders names. we then went to the change details page, resubmitted and this went to an errors page, this became a continuous loop as we tried to resubmit again. This is highly frustrating as the service is good but 18185 seem determind to get us to change to another payment method, mainly credit card. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

And before anyone asks, yes the bank would honour the Direct Debit request if asked.

Have a good Christmas,

Sheepdog:mad:

I had a similar problem with 18866 when I changed from credit card payment to direct debit, I sent them a copy of my bank statement showing the payment made to them. I've been with 18185 for ages and never received a bill yet.

Just seen this on another thread .To register your bank details with 18185 delete cookies ,then register a mobile number with 18185 then add your land line number.
  • Thanks I'll try this and hopefully get it set up at last.
