Got some dates... we first talked of extending the mortgage at the end of Jan as it was to expire on 20 Feb. Our mortgage provider (not an independent advisor - not sure if you're dealing direct with mortgage co or through a broker or something) said on 3 Feb she'd been in touch with Head Office. On 7 February she emailed to say they'd agreed a three month extension. We thought we were only getting a month, so that was great news - especailly as we didn't complete until 31 March!

PS sorry pretty sure you are dealing with MA and not at all with bank. Not reading things properly. Sleepy!

Aw hazyjo thank you so much for getting back to me  I really appreciate that! That sounds like we'll have plenty of time to get things sorted, if they get sorted!

Must be honest my nerves are pretty frayed as I'm one of those annoying people that thinks of worst-case scenarios only :o So I'm already thinking ... what do I do with all our stuff if we don't get the extension and are homeless!!

I'm also a bit nervous as we have a mortgage elsewhere, which again we were open about with the MA but for the purposes of this mortgage here it wasn't a problem at all (we qualified for FTBs as our existing mortgage is not in the UK, and the amount we send back sometimes is very minimal and built into our budget) - I keep thinking, what if they change their minds and decide not to extend, or extend the offer but then cancel the offer close to completion? :( Even though we really have been transparent about everything.

I'm such a joy to live with right ... :rotfl:

I'm due to hear back from the MA about the extension on Tuesday but maybe for my own peace of mind I'll give them a call tomorrow to ease my worried mind ... :o
