Advice after job carried out on drainage (by someone else)

Understand how you feel we felt much the same...:mad:Shared sewer with 4 others one house newish the others including ours pre 1937. We have had at least 3 blockages here since 2000 and on our 1st occasion our elderly neighbour came to us for a sum of around £10 /15 because the newish house owner had called out someone like dynorod and that was the share each apparently!!! Found out soon after that it should done free we thought anyway. Our neighbour had a set of rods so the next 2 blockages were fixed between us.

We have new neighbours now that started a front extention in March(actually almost rebuild...nightmare) and the first thing they dug was into the sewer pipe. We were affected straight away because our property is much lower and as the neighbours denied it was anything to do with them we phoned the water board they said not there responibility phoned the Council who said also not there reponsibility either in the meantime the builders had gone shopping for new pipes then fixed it.We have our own rods now especially as we have the drains/covers.. new neighbour has pipes next neighbour after that has inspection covers.
I was told recently that because we have only be apopted for 3 years it is still our responsibility...
If that happens here again will only pay via a receipt 100%
