Skype and keyboard issues

My keyboard has suddenly changed on Skype. It's fine on Firefox and Thunderbird. It's just Skype that's gone odd on me.
Instead of the £ sign, I'm getting the #, for example. I have looked in tools and the "language" is set to English (English) and I can't see anywhere to change the keyboard.
Anyone got any ideas how to change it please? It was fine yesterday!
