  • i think ebay may be removing some listings, the one ending in 22hrs came up with a removed page. fair play on standard concert tickets, but charity, come on.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6175075.stm A spokesman for eBay said: "In view of the unique and commemorative nature of the Concert for Diana event and as a mark of respect for the memory of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, eBay has decided to not allow the re-sale of tickets to this event on the site."

    Good on ebay:j
  • LOL. Can't see there being quite the mad rush for the tickets going on sale in the new year. There will still be a rush, of course, but I'm suspecting for once it will be genuine fans who are buying them. Looks like there will be a lot of ebay sellers with a £200-ish hole in their finances. I suppose they may be allowed to sell through loot and the like but who knows? I think ebay acted quickly after the very negative publicity it got for dragging its feet with regard to the Live 8 tickets. I suppose this was inevitable, especially in light of the Govt. taking an active interest in the whole touting 'industry'...

Ha, ha...how come there are currently 18 sellers with 'diana concert -ross' items for sale??

ebay won't admit it but they are virtually powerless to stop people selling anything they want to...esp with BIN and immediate Paypal payments. By the time someone 'drops a dime' on a listing, and ebay get around to acting, it could be easily sold.

And let's face it, they don't really want to reduce the amount of money they make.
  • Personally I think ebay are wrong to stop people selling them, and no I have not got any to sell.

And what is the big thing over Diana anyway, she's dead and will always be dead. She was a cheating unfaithfull wife to the future king of this country. I know Charles is no goody 2 shoes but at least he has some morales.

    Get over her people.
  • I'm glad eBay pulled the tickets from their site. I hope it's left the touts with a load of tickets and a huge hole in their pockets in the meantime. Talk about robbing someone even when their dead.

People like that are the lowest of the low imo. I hope nobody chooses to buy of them.

The touts will still use other avenue to sell the tickets, other auction sites and newspapers etc. It is a great idea to have a charity concert for diana.

I dont particularly like RF but the concert is for a good cause, so people who dislike or slate the RF or concert should leave this thread well alone as they dont have any intention of going anyway.

I'm one of the fortunate ones who managed to get 4 tickets, I'm sure many of my family/friends will want to be my best friend come next july ;)

It would be very easy to stop any items not pulled by ebay; just bid stupid money for them (£99,999,999), and it will be pulled. :) Dont come to me if they try to get the money from you thought. :D
