How long are you leaving it for? Do you know what update 14 is? Could it be SP1?Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0

" I woke up to the same problem this morning on my new HP laptop and finally figured out a solution. All that was showing was a screen requesting not to turn off or unplug but it was obviously frozen. It will not even allow you to force a power down- you can turn off power but the same screen shows again when it is turned back on. You must unplug from the power source and also remove the battery pack. Replace the battery pack and power on. A black screen will appear saying Windows was not closed properly. Click enter to restart Windows normally and it will install updates. I went to the control panel and changed my settings so that Windows doesn't automatically install the updates so hopefully this won't happen again. "

dont know what update it is...laptop is only 4 days old...samsung RV510....left the laptop running last night when it said windows will install updates then shutdown....battery was fully charged so it could have been 2 or 3 hours.....looks like the laptop ran out of power and shut down.....twice been over 30 mins this morning with no luck
It wouldn't surprise me if it was SP1 that was trying to install.
The best thing to do is to is to manually update rather than letting the update run when you shut down.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -
