can anyone tell me if your bank can reject a direct debit when you have money going into the account the same day eg
01/06/11 balance zero
01/06/11 dd rejected 7am
01/06/11 bank a/c credited with cash 7am
this just seems away of charging bank fees
thanks for any help

Many banks require funds to be in the working day before, or to inform the bank specifically if you have paid in to cover something going out that day. Presumably your bank is one of those.
It's perfectly legal and forms part of the terms and conditions.urs sinserly,

If their terms and conditions require you to have funded the account earlier, yes.
Which bank is it?
Which account is it?
What do the terms and conditions say?0
