Because thats what they would be paying for and tbh it sounds like they had a lucky escape with you declining.

FYI I have 17 yrs experience of CS (Customer services to you) in Government where I could be myself. No one complained. I was polite as I was myself - nothing fake in saying what I did. Unlike supermarkets where you're forced to say what they tell you. I never had a script to stick to & I did win an excellent award in 2005, 2006 & 2007.

Yes but was it selling as in a shop? because its been proven that asking that last question jolts customers memory and you as an employee maybe able to get that add on sale.

Supermarkets will spend hundreds and thousends on staff training and finding the best way to deal with customers, its not as if they just decided one day that is what you will be saying without a valid reason.
The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

Have to say huddles, abbreviations all seem to be the norm for these american companies, and they certainly want a pound of flesh. Does anyone know of anybody who actually has a full time contract in Asda? In our Asda no one is on a full time contract!

I worked at an Asda about 8 years ago, on the Pizza counter. It was bloody awful, the endless sales jargon, the horrible polyester uniform, grated mozzerella everywhere. Ugh, I remember I got offered a job at HMV two weeks later and I was straight out the door, didnt work my notice, just went in worked a shift and said I'm off.

I think I was 21, HMV was like a dream job, chatting about movies and music all day and a 50% discount
