Lloyds - future dated manual payment went as BACS instead of FP

This in effect means that you have to do the manual payment on the actual day to be able to get FP, as a future dated payment a few days earlier will only go by BACS. For me, both are the same (manual payment), and I'm rather unpleasantly surprised that they are handled differently.
After all, I only did the future dated payment a few days earlier because I absolutely needed the funds in the destination account on the same date as the transfer day, and I knew it would be hard to find time on the intended transfer day to do the transfer manually. Lose lose situation.

AFAIK that is the same for all banks FPs.
Lloyds will send a Standing Order up to £1000 via FP so you could set up a SO then delete it later, but probably too much hassle.0 -
First Direct treat same day and future dated manual transfers the same (i.e. use FP). Because they don't use FP for SO's, they suggested to me an alternative of setting up several future dated manual transfers (1 every month) which would be a workaround to ensure they all go by FP.
Interestingly, the transfer was from Lloyds to Halifax (same banking group), which makes this even more annoying!0 -
