Free phone on e2save - what's the catch?

I've seen that phone on e2save - normally £20 a month but free and the phone's free too. So as far as I understand, so long as I send the right bills to claim the cashback, and stick to just the free minutes/texts, I'll get a phone for nothing? And I can also go through Quidco and claim cash back? Meaning I get paid for having a mobile (I rarely use mine, but it's old and needs replacing. I wouldn't go over the free calls).

So what's the catch? Is there one?

The phone is free with the contract anyway. The line rental becomes "free" IN EFFECT when you send back the cashback forms.

So each month you are paying the line rental (£20) to the mobile phone provider as you would under a normal contract deal and claim your cashback from E2save when neccessary.

Plus and minus over the term of the contract deems the phone and usage (as specified) for free, but you do have an outlay each month.

    Does this help????

I also want some info on this (sorry for thread hijack).

Is it a minefield or is it easy to claim back the cashback? I am quite organised so I think I would be ok sending the bills at the right time, but do they sometimes 'go missing'? Also can you send copies instead of originals?

    Thanks

Copies instead of originals - they MUST be sent at the right time or nothing is paid out and you should always send recorded/special so you have proof of postage, otherwise they may well go missing.

And its your responsibility to send them in. There are no reminders from E2save etc!!!

Thanks for the info Charlotte :)

I am going to go for it and hope I get accepted for the contract (I have never had any credit before in my life!).

By the way I am looking at the D600.

Well I can stand paying out £20 a month, if I get it back. And the faffing around is worth it for the fact I get a free phone and will save the little amount I spend on my mobile at the moment. I think I'll go for it too.... I've read the other threads about E2save, but think I can cope with a bit of messing about...

  • I wouldnt buy from e2save. They have been good in the past, have become sloppy over the past few months and are now trying to con people.

With the last contract I have taken out with them, first of all they only decided to send me my automatic cashback after I spent ages trying to call them and very recently I had a letter back from them saying that my cashback claim was not successful due to sending the wrong bill, which I know for a fact is nonsense. And I am not the only one who has received this letter after reading a thread in this forum.
  • I bought my first 2 phones off e2save had no hassle at all getting money back. but come 2 months before end of contract they bugged me everyday to upgrade although it was'nt an up grade I'd have had 2 more phones which would have proved costly, when I rang 3 free on 333 to give then 30 days notice to quit they offered me the free upgrade which I've done again this year, at no cost and the tariff keeps going down which is also good if you stay with them they offer you great discounts,
    plus you keep your number

  • the way this works is they get alot of money in commission for the contract u sign up to 12 months 18 months 24 months the longer the more money for them,. they get the commission with in 2 weeks or so,. of u signing up,. and they bank the money while paying u out over a monthly format the longer the better for them,. so the crack is the more contracts they sell the more commission they get so the more money in their bank account = the more interest they get,.
  • AndyR and Minimods, if your going to take out a contract online, go through Quidco to get cashback, to reduce the cost of your annual cost of your contract!

e2save are happy to accept photocopies of your airtime bills, but some companies want the originals (also keep photocopies in case it gets lost the first time it gets sent). Send ALL claims by Recorded Delivery as a minimum requirement! Just make sure you read the cashback process and all the T&Cs before going ahead and taking out the contract! :)
