Grounds for Appeal??

I recently got only my second ticket in 4 years for parking in a council car park and i had failed to display my permit. The first ticket was wiped out due me providing evidence of my permit, the most recent however will be dealt with by the courts as they (the police) can only remove 1 per calender year.
The problem i have is that there are tow signs displayed saying "permit holders only" and another saying "residents and permit holders only". My arguement is that i am a permit holder, nowhere does it state that the permit has to be on display at all times, it just states you have to have one.
Do you feel i have a good case or will i just have to pay up?
Thanks

I think you are on a wing and a prayer here. Although it may not state that the permit has to be on display at all times, any reasonable person would assume that in order to ascertain whether someone has a valid permit or not it would have to be on display.
If this is an Excess or Fixed Penalty Notice issued by the police, your only avenue of appeal is in the Magistrates court. If you lost, the fine + victim support levy is likely to be far in excess of the penalty fine.0 -
This was removed from court so i did not have to pay anything! Lucky me!0
