RAC car insurance & £50 M&S voucher.

Hi,
Yesterday I obtained a quote from RAC insurance going through the link to RAC on the Car Insurance page of MSE.
Assuming you took out the quote before June 9 and paid in one go, a £50 M&S voucher is available and will be paid within 8 weeks of the policy.
So far so good you might say, but there was one little query I needed to sort out so I have just rang them and in the course of the conversation I just happened to mention the £50 voucher.
Clearly he knew nothing about it as he couldn't see anything regarding it on the site and even went and obtained further info from someone and when he came back said it was something MSE was offering!!! I suggested there must be a link somewhere but apparently not. I have read the T&C's and it clearly states it will come from the RAC within 8 weeks of purchase and to ring customer services if it doesn't. I really don't want to go ahead without the voucher. Anyone else bought a policy and received/waiting for the voucher please? - sally

The sales agents won't know about it if it's an online offer. (But it won't be being paid by MSE!!)
Keep a copy of the ts + cs and as long as you stick to them you can pursue them for the voucher should it fail to arrive.0 -
That response doesn't really help does it??
There is abosolutely NO point saving the T&C's with telephone numbers if when you call they deny all knowledge??
--My experience--
I called twice, once to the number at the foot of the quote and then to the number listed in the T&C's.
1st - Normal call centre, no idea what I was talking about - thought it was sponsored by MSE ???
2nd different number, same customer services. Same 'no idea mate' and bounced me through to M&S call centre in the blink of an eye?? The nice lady there had no idea either??
MSE needs to confirm this offer is genuine or remove it from the site - Its too confusing for normal folk who have to watch their money.
The voucher offer is not published on the RAC site or anywhere else ???
I want to renew my insurance as well but won't bother with RAC unless its genuine???
So whats the deal MSE?0 -
Ooops... sorry not very patient....
Have renewed through my existing - Though in my defence I did use compare the market, barclays and RAC to drive the price down from 395 to 310 so that's better than just auto-renewing (You've got to keep an eye on that little scam)0 -

As already posted, telephone sales agents won't know anything about online deals! Should any dispute arise in future, then written correspondence will be the way to resolve it!
There is every "point" in keeping a copy of online ts +cs when entering any online contract, and your advice to not do so should be ignored.
Otherwise how are you ever going to be able to prove your "point" at some time in the future should a problem arise (and the ts + cs have been taken down)?0 -
Hi
Thanks Quentin for your advice.
However, after obtaining a quote online, it does say to ring an 0844(alternative listed on say no to 0870) number to discuss any questions/queries you may have so of course this is what I did.
I did say to the CSA that I would ring customer services and he said not to bother as they would just put me through to them!!!!!! I would definitely buy the insurance from them IF the £50 voucher would be forthcoming as the other similar quote is from computerquoteinsurance.com and there are a couple of reviews about them which are not what you would call 'reassuring'!
