Cost of parcel to Russia

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I have a parcel to send to Russia, 45 x 45 x 8 cm. 1.7Kg value of £5 only. The post office said it would be £32ish, but said a courier might be cheaper, I've been searching couriers on the internet and the quotes seem to be £80 to £90, am I looking in the wrong place. I've never used a courier to send items before so a bit confused.

I've checked the ones I use which cost me around £25-£40 to send to most places but non of them do Europe. The Post Office may be your best bet.

I've been looking to send some items to Russia and 1.7kg comes to £10.31 on the Royalmail website

Hi Thanks for the reply. The Royal Mail website takes into account the dimensions as well as the weight, so it isn't £10.31. i think it is £38 the cheapest for my dimensions. I think I'll message my buyer and tell him it is not worth it, the item is only worth a £5!

Russia is not accepting any international courier shipments to private addresses at the moment. RM services are OK but it is too large with the dimensions given. Length + Width + Depth must be no larger than 90cm. If you can pack it smaller but still adequately prices here

Hmmm I have 4 LP's and a book to send, might have to split it all now
