Jeremy Vine - Radio 2 Show

Did anyone else just hear the Jeremy Vine Radio 2 show, I'm still in shock at what I heard and brought back a few memories (not to me), but I thought times had changed from the 70's/80's.
For anyone who has a disabled child it's something you need to hear (however hard it is to listen to). So log on to the BBC iPlayer and listen to the first 30 mins of the show.

Hi Chorlie
I am just listening now, the link for anyone else to listen is:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b011ddm6/Jeremy_Vine_Vanessa_Feltz_Sits_In/
This follows on from last night's Panorama on BBC1, truly dispicable behaviour from carers and all from one of the biggest private care providers in the UK, shocking is really the only word I can use to describe what I watched last night, I was left at times throughout the programme feeling very very angry that this kind of abuse was still going on in 2011 geeesh has our government learnt nothing from the desperation mental health patients experienced in the 70's and 80's.
The Panorama programme is definately worth a watch, looking at the facility you really would not expect this type of abuse to happen there, this makes it all even more shocking the iplayer link is below for anyone who wants to watch it:

Arrests have been made I just hope the abusers get to see the inside of a prison cell!"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -
Last nights Panorama was shocking. I cried all night because my son will never live independently and will be in residential care when we are no longer around to look after him.
I feel desparate that he will be at the mercy of the type of so-called carers we saw on that programme last night. I'm very sad.0 -

Now it has been brought to public attention fingers crossed things get better, as a parent I was truly shocked I cannot even begin to imagine how you felt watching it
I am sure things will get better I Ure hope so anyhow."You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -
Sounds like I'd better avoid this, anything with kids being mistreated makes me hurt inside and my OH tells me not to watch things like that."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0

If you think the Panorama program was bad than don't listen to the Jeremy Vine show, but if you are a parent of a disabled child you have to, it's horrible listening to what has happened to some of these poor people in so called care.
I am disabled and I'm dreading getting old, I live with my parents who are both pensioners; I hope I can get by on my own once they are gone, but life is getting harder for me.
Everyone with disabled child needs to watch the Panorama program and listen to the Jeremy Vine show then think how best to look after your children if / when something happens to you, because it doesn't seem the state are doing a very good job of it.
If you think the Panorama Program was bad, then listen to the parents who phoned in to this radio show, that will truly make you feel sick...

Just turn on the iPlayer, sit down and be prepared to be truly shocked at the standard of care in this country. I truly can't put into words how I felt listening to it.0 -
I have just watched this programme on iplayer and I can't believe what I just saw.
I can't put into words how angry I feel or how sorry I am for the victims and their families.
If there is any justice they will be put in a hardcore prison and be on the receiving end of 'special treatment'.
Off to cuddle my Hubby and children.

DH and i watched the programme last night we have a disabled child with learning difficulties who will never live on her own. We have no-one to care for her when we are no longer able too. To be honest when we go I would love for her to be here no longer rather than be bullied and tortured by those who are suppose to be caring for her. Very upsetting but we will give her the best care we can for as long as we can.0

I can not bring myself to watch it, I felt physically sick when my daughter and husband spoke about it. As a family we thought that before we got too old it would be best to have our daughter settled into a loving care home a hard choice to make. Now I cant even think of that time without wanting to cry. My other daughter said she does not care what we say no one but her will care for her sister when that time comes after reading about it I shall not say what my husband said." I would not change you for the world, but I would change the world for you"
Proud to be parent of a child with Autism:D
When I see your face there's not a thing that I would change 'cause your amazing just the way you are0
