Furious with HSBC

In October 2006 I discover my HSBC credit card direct debit payment has been cancel from my current account. Then I go straight to phone their customer service and to reset the direct debit. However after numerous phone call go to their branch and even complain to the head office they still cant find out the reason and reset the direct debit. Today I go to the branch again and the staff told me may be there is computer error:mad: so my direct debit has been cancel . Ask again why the direct debit cannot be set up. Same reason:mad:

Any time HSBC have screwed up something with me (twice now), I have written to them (either using their online e-form, or by snail mail) with details of my complaint.

In fairness, they followed it up fairly quickly, and gave me a £50 cheque each time.

One issue was over a DD. I had instructed them to stop on a certain date, and it took me overdrawn. I then got whacked with a charge because of another DD (I was on holiday at the time to boot). They checked their phone records, and I was refunded £50.

Put it in writing, don't complain over the phone is my advice.
