A friend has recently purchased a campeervan .. well last yerar actually and has spent the past few months getting it 'ship shape' with a view to using it fore the first time this summer.

Does anybody know whether there are any specialist insurers for such an old van.

Furthermore, he is thinking about insuring it only for 6 months, as it'll be tucked back in its garage before the snow returns, to hibernate again until next spring.

Many thanks !

    I use safeguard.
The give recovery for older vehicles as well.
Any decent insurer will match the ncd of the car as well.
If you plan to cancel the insurance and sorn it, check the refund t&c's.

I second Adrian Flux. They insure my 1989 VW Scirocco. HIC are good as are Lancaster. Lancaster insure my 1970 Beetle and are fantastic

Thought it might be a wedge :)

Hic claim to specialise in vws, get your friend to join club 80-90 and get onto the volkszine forums...

I've got the morris insured through lancaster and I'm sure they would do a reasonable deal, any insurers in the back of a classics mag should be able to help.

Lynbrook insurance has a Classic camper scheme, very good cover at a bargain price.
  • Van Compare has very good deals on insurance. Good cover and the prices are affordable. Before you take any sort of insurance read the following I hope that could be very helpful for you to choose the right one.
