Anyone replaced the glass in one?
My daughters just dropped hers.
Looks to be a fun job.

I have done on an iPhone, but that looks much simpler than the 4g touch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpapOuNXwyc).

    Good luck!

I thought they were the same on the 4g, but it's just the glass, everything else works ok, just has a few chips and cracks now.

Have a surf on YouTube. usually plenty of articles showing what to do

I have never done the glass, but changed the battery on an ipod classic a few years ago. Was very easy

Just make sure you are out of warranty, else if you do something like this yourself, I suspect it will void

Go to iFixit - they have guides for replacing parts in pretty much every Apple product. Parts are pretty easy to find on eBay, but make sure it's a glass screen you're buying and not a plastic one, I was caught out by that once! I think the LCD and digitizer come as one unit.

The glass and digitizer are glued together. you can change the glass only but it can be a pain sitting there with a hairdryer trying to unpick it.

After doing one, I opted to change both the screen and digitizer together from then on (splitting them give another avenue for dust particles to creep in)

I've not done an Ipod Touch 4G but have done various iPhones and other iPods.

You need patience..... lots of it.

Most which you buy from Ebay will come with little tools to help get you less frustrated with it.
